A flamboyant NZ native shrub, taking it's name from the large, pendulous clusters of bright red flowers resembling a Kaka's beak. Spring flowering. Trim regularly to control it's sprawling habit. Watch for caterpillars! Protect from severe frost. Sun to semi-shade. Evergreen.
