- Garden care: Plant in a full sun well drained situation in the garden such as a north facing garden. Ideal for planting on slopes, sandy or stoney soil, or areas where watering is difficult. Compost can also be added to improve aeration and drainage. Avoid the use of animal manures. As Aloes require good drainage the use of raised beds can be used these can be constructed using rocks or mounded soil. Agaves will benefit from watering during summer but allow to dry out between waterings. During winter watering will not be required as excess moisture may result in damage or death. A low nitrogen fertilser can be used in spring.
A fantastic feature tree aloe. Bluish-green leaves are broad, deeply U-shaped in cross-section and strongly curved downwards so that the tips touch the stem. Spectacular yellow-orange flowers are produced in mid winter. Sun. Protect from frost.
